Christ Comes, Receive Him Joyfully — 7th Week — Day 1 — Great Lent
Scripture Reading:
Luke 1:26–38
Key Verse:
“And behold, you will conceive in your womb and bring forth a Son, and shall call His name Jesus.” (Luke 1:31)
Meditation:
What greater word could creation ever hear than this? “You will conceive… and bring forth a Son.” The womb that knew no man received the Uncontainable. The virgin earth bore the Seed of heaven. Rejoice, O soul! For your Savior comes not with sword nor fire, but with gentleness to dwell in you. Cast off the burden of this passing world. Lift up your hands, not in labor, but in surrender. He who humbled Himself to take flesh now seeks to be born in your heart.
Early Church Fathers’ Saying:
“David danced before the ark with joy, casting away the honor of his crown. Yet John, even in the womb, leapt with greater glory—for the Virgin became the Ark of Divinity, carrying within her the Master of mysteries.” — St. Jacob of Serugh
Practical Practice:
As the Son submitted to the will of His Father, let your soul also bow.
Today, pause and whisper from your heart: “Hail to you, full of grace, the Lord is with you.” (Luke 1:28) Let it be your prayer of surrender.
